Creed Foodservice has officially opened its new distribution centre following a three-phase transfer to make it fully operational.
The depot, in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, is the base for around 300 of Creed’s national and independent customers’ sites in the care, education, hotel, restaurant, leisure destination and in-store cafe sectors.
In addition to Creed’s head office and distribution centre in Staverton, Gloucestershire (55,00sq ft.) and distribution centre in Ilkeston, Derbyshire (35,000sq ft.), High Wycombe (27,300sq ft.) is the third depot to further strengthen their existing infrastructure.
A third site was acquired in the South East in order to capitalise on opportunities surrounding the growing eating out market and strong care and education sectors.
Philip de Ternant, managing director of Creed, commented: “Our new High Wycombe distribution centre is part of continued investment in our growth, and indeed in our service levels to customers on a regional and national basis.
“London and the South East continue to attract emerging foodservice brands, so it’s an exciting time to be able to enter this region. Although it’s a competitive marketplace, we differentiate ourselves through our ‘Believe in More’ approach to business and will continue to add value for our customers wherever possible.”
Fifteen vehicles are based at the depot, delivering around 6,000 items a day through 13 delivery routes. The centre supplies chefs and caterers with products across the frozen, chilled, grocery, fresh produce, meats and non-food categories.
