Catering Design Group (CDG) has won two school contracts to refurbish the serving and dining areas.
King’s Bruton, an independent boarding and day school for pupils aged 13 to 18 in Bruton, Somerset, has appointed CDG to complete a full design and build of its back of house facilities, together with a full refurbishment of its servery and dining areas. The new design will improve the flow around the spaces, while delivering a refreshingly new look and feel for staff and pupils. An upgrade to the back of house will see the inclusion of new prep areas, a cold store and potwash.
Our Lady’s Abingdon (OLA), a leading co-educational day school in Oxfordshire for boys and girls aged three to 18, will undergo a full design and build to its dining area. CDG has been commissioned to bring an urban, industrial feel to the school, which was founded in 1860. The project will include the addition of a new servery counter, feature lighting and flooring, together with bespoke furniture and a fixed seating area. To complement the project, the design will also incorporate displays of work produced by OLA’s art department.
The contracts are two of four new projects being undertaken by CDG, worth nearly £1m in total. This includes the company’s second project at City Hall in London, which will see CDG refurbish the restaurant and back of house facilities to create a new coffee bar.
