It was an early start in the fresh air this morning (13th November) when Karen Robinson began her first of five marathons for National School Meals Week (NSMW) sponsored by Kraft Heinz Foodservice.
Karen started her challenge at Ysgol Santes Tudful in Merthyr Tydfil, before moving on to Oasis Academy in Bristol this afternoon. The Powered by School Meals Challenge will see her run through all LACA regions and fuelling her runs with school meals. Not only will it raise the profile of school food and National School Meals Week but Karen will be raising money for the LACA chair’s charity, the British Heart Foundation.
Tomorrow she will start at Epsom Primary in Kent before visiting Calverton School in London. On Wednesday she will run to Highfield High School in Letchworth Garden City and Barnby Road Academy in Newark. On Thursday she will run a marathon in Stockton-on-Tees, before visiting Ravensthorpe CofE Junior School in Dewsbury. Then, on Friday, she will run to the MediaCityUK in Salford before ending her challenge at Chesford Grange Hotel in Kenilworth, where the LACA Autumn National Seminar takes place.
