ISS has been awarded the contract to provide catering services to Hawkley Hall High School, an over-subscribed, outstanding, mixed secondary school with over 1,000 students on roll, situated to the west of Wigan. The school is part of the multi-academy trust, The Rowan Learning Trust.
The five-year contract, worth £350,000, will see ISS introduce its Tiller & Hobs dining experience, offering freshly prepared, high street style food, including the Tiller & Hobs Presents travelling concept bar, which will offer a range of cuisines from around the world.
The caterer has invested £48,000 in updating the dining area and introducing wallscapes and a separate ‘pod’ servery to create relaxing, inspirational environments for the school community to enjoy. They have also updated the cashless system to speed up queuing times.
Throughout the course of the contract, ISS will work with the school to introduce food education initiatives such as cooking and gardening clubs. A food ambassador will be assigned to develop the service and support the needs and interests of the school.
“Hawkley Hall is excited to be working with ISS. We want to bring healthy, varied and affordable food options to our school community, in a relaxed and comfortable dining area. The ISS offer fits our objectives and puts student needs at the heart of the dining experience,” said head teacher Philip Rimmer.
