City Catering Southampton is celebrating a new brand identity with the launch of a new e-commerce website and the announcement of a number of new clients.
City Catering Southampton is a not-for-profit organisation and is the UK’s first charitable catering company. City Catering uses profits from its corporate and event catering offering to fund the Lunch Crowd Holiday Club to provide free meals during the summer holidays for school children and their families who normally receive free meals during term time. City Catering is currently supporting three holiday clubs in the Sholing, Thornhill and Mansbridge areas.
The new brand identity will help the organisation accurately portray its missions across its corporate, care and school meal sectors, while the new e-commerce website will allow businesses to order and pay for team lunches, meeting provisions and client hospitality, all with the click of a button.
With these new changes and an easier to use website, City Catering hopes more local businesses will be encouraged to try out the service and help provide local families with healthy meals throughout the holidays. Businesses can also help back the initiative on a larger scale, with sponsorship to provide a Lunch Crowd kitchen, feed a family of four throughout the school holidays or to distribute grocery bags to improve the nutrition of the whole family.
Along with the new website, City Catering has also welcomed some new clients on board, including Associated British Ports (ABP), University of Southampton, and Foot Anstey. Several new venue partnerships have also been announced with John Hansard Gallery and Eagle Labs.
“Our charity is already making a big difference across the city for vulnerable adults, and children affected by food poverty,” says Rachel Hall, CEO of City Catering. “With the launch of our refreshed brand and our e-commerce site, we’re driving more corporate catering sales in order to make a bigger impact with the charitable surplus we generate.
“The more our brand and cause is recognised by businesses in Southampton, and the more we feed those business with food to fuel their staff and clients, the greater the number of children we can feed during the school holidays. They might otherwise go hungry, something that three million children experience across the UK each year. That’s not ok with us.”
Businesses can get involved by either ordering their next business lunch or event catering from City Catering, or through one of its four sponsorship options: ‘Good Will’, ‘Boost’, ‘Nourish’ and ‘Innovate’.
