Children celebrate Rugby World Cup

School children in Warwickshire have celebrated the start of the Rugby World Cup with a special themed lunch menu. Supplied by school caterers, Educaterers, the special school lunch included Japanese and US dishes, with deep pan Chicago pizza with potato wedges, Quorn pieces with rice and Japanese Katsu curry sauce, and either fruit jello or rugby ball-shaped cookies for dessert.

Educaterers school catering staff dressed up for the occasion, wearing England rugby and other national sports kit to serve lunch to the children. One of the schools taking part was Paddox Primary School in Rugby, the birthplace of the game.

“We are passionate about fantastic food and creating a great meal experience, so we wanted to help the pupils have fun for the Rugby World Cup 2019 with this special menu and give them a bit of a change from their normal lunch time,” says Terry Tredget, director of Educaterers. “We work closely with our school catering teams during the year to develop innovative products and services and come up with original ways to get school children involved at lunch times and trying a variety of freshly prepared foods.”

The themed lunch is just one of many special menus supplied to primary, junior and infant schools using the Educaterers service throughout the year.
