Staff from wholesale company Creed Foodservice have taken part in a WellChild Step Up Challenge to raise money for seriously ill children.
WellChild provides essential support to and care for seriously ill children and young people in the UK. The charity provides teams of children’s nurses who work with families to ensure that children with complex care needs can leave hospital and return home. Through its Helping Hands scheme, WellChild enlists the support of volunteers to tackle practical projects in the homes of sick children. In addition, the charity has invested more than £20 million in ground-breaking children’s health research projects.
For the latest fundraising effort, 128 Creed staff walked an incredible 11,092 miles between them to support children with exceptional health needs across the UK. Together the team raised a whopping £10,000 for WellChild.
Creed Foodservice staff have worked hard to support Cheltenham-based WellChild’s work over seven years. Their efforts have seen them take part in WellChild’s Helping Hands garden makeover programme, volunteering and donating refreshments at WellChild events, and raising vital funds for the charity through golf days, the London Marathon and the Creed staff lottery.
“We are very grateful to everyone at Creed Foodservice who goes above and beyond to support our work,” says Colin Dyer, chief executive of WellChild. “It was great to hear about the many and varied ways they covered the 10,000 miles in their StepUp Challenge. Their support over the years has been invaluable and all of the money raised will help greatly with our work to support seriously ill children and their families.”
“WellChild is a national charity working to ensure the best possible care and support for children living with complex health conditions,” says Chris Creed from Creed Foodservice. “We are delighted to have been supporting the charity for over seven years, working closely with the team on various events. The Step Up Challenge was a valuable and engaging event for both the charity and Creed employees, and we could not have been prouder to have supported them with this. We look forward to future fundraising events with WellChild.”
