The government has announced that it is to pay 80% of wages for employees not working due to the coronavirus crisis.
In the latest daily announcement from the government, Chancellor Rishi Sunak confirmed that up to £2,500 a month could be paid per employee.
Any employer in the country will be eligible for the new wage subsidy scheme.
It is hoped that the move will help people keep their jobs.
As stated in a release from the BBC, the Chancellor made an appeal to employers to stand by their workers during the coronavirus crisis.
